Air intakes systems are one of the easiest ways that you can begin to modify your ride, and they are also one of the most cost effective.  There are two basic types of intake systems that can be had for almost any popular import or domestic car or truck. 

A Short Ram intake system typically replaces most of the factory airbox and air induction system while leaving the air filter in the engine bay.  These systems are simple, easy, and cost effective way to make power gains on your car. 

A Cold Air intake system relocates the factory filter location to outside of the engine bay, usually to the fenderwell or lower bumper of the car to ensure that the coldest air possible is drawn into the engine.  Cold air induction generally makes more power than a short ram intake system, yet they are almost always slightly more expensive due to the added cost of piping and tubing required to located the air filter outside of the engine bay.
